Anna Kennedy Online – Autism Awareness Charity

We are back again at Brunel University planning our Charity Autism Expo for the month of June 2023.

Families, carers, friends and educators of autistic children and adults are warmly invited to join my team of volunteers and a host of experts at the fifth year of The AKO Autism Expo at Brunel University in West London.

We are a charity dedicated to raising awareness and acceptance of autism, the aim of the event is to give like-minded people the chance to share stories, talk to professionals in specialist clinics and to find out more about autism, neurodiversity and its related conditions.

The Expo includes a range of practical and inspirational advice; the day has an impressive line-up of speakers including Autistic Adults who have carved successful careers. Other highlights of the event included free clinics run by experts offering legal guidance on Special Education Needs, autism training, behaviour management and advice .

The Expo always attracts a wide range of exhibitors offering specialist strategies, products and services to help people manage and understand autism – visitors at our past events have checked out sensory equipment ,visual aids, special yoga, gluten-free and other special diets, movement therapy, a support network for parents , carers, and more. The aim is to provide as much information and advice as possible to anyone caring for or educating people diagnosed with autism.

‘This event could not be created without my team of dedicated volunteers made up of parents of autistic children ,adults and autistic adults who give up their free time to help me host such charity events. I cannot thank them enough and we have become a family that gets bigger every year. ‘
