It was great to be part of the radio show with Anna talking ‘All things Autism’. Anna is a welcoming and engaging host who asked great questions and used her own experiences to create value for the listers. Anna warm and welcoming style, allowed for a great conversation to take place to share practical tips. experiences and resources to benefit her audience. It was pleasure to be involved.

Pamela is the founder and chairperson of Avalon. Pam was inspired to setup the charity following the autism diagnoses of her daughter Ava who was two at the time. Ava was nonverbal and as a family we found the process to be daunting, difficult, and isolating. The charity exists to support other parents by offering parental guidance and support, we deliver innovative wellbeing programmes and family events and days to bring families together.

As well as leading the charity, Pam has over 20 years’ experience, in Senior Roles within Learning and Talent. Pam is the Director for a fast-growing virtual leadership and coaching consultancy, developing leaders and managers across all the private, public and third sectors. Pam is passionate about creating innovative programmes to help people grow and reach their potential in life and business. She draws upon all of this experience when working with families to develop relevant solutions to meet their needs.

Pam lives at home in Glasgow with her husband William and Ava. William is also an active Board Member for Avalon, and they work together to deliver programmes and services to support parents and families.

Pam is dedicated to maintaining her own personal fitness and wellbeing and has completed several endurance events to raise money for the charity including Glasgow and Edinburgh Half Marathons, Fort William Marathon, and the 5 Peak Challenge, attempting to climb five of Scotland’s Monroe’s in 24 hours. Pam loves to read and is passionate about all aspects of leadership development and personal growth. Pam is currently writing a booked titled ‘Light and Shade” which provides a parental perspective on raising a child on the autistic spectrum.
