This week I am sharing some self-massage and Japanese Shiatsu tips and techniques to combat insomnia, anxiety, and stress – all of which impact hugely on our overall mental health.
These massage techniques can be shared within your bubbles, used if you are isolating alone and are suitable for everyone, whether you have a disability, different ability, are neurodiverse or neurotypical. They can be used regardless of your budget, situation, or mobility. They can be used at the beginning of the day, end of the day or even discreetly if you are shopping or on public transport. I just want to care for everyone!!
These simple tips help to stimulate melatonin, the hormone of sleep, mood, and aggression, as well flooding our bodies and brains with the four main happy hormones and coping chemicals which fill us with pleasure, reward, motivation, immunity, self-esteem, confidence, and the feelings of being able to cope and function.
As these uncertain times seem to stretch on indefinitely, let us begin half term with boosting our happiness.
Our mental health is literally in our own hands. And remember wherever you go, be kind, as you never know if you will be the last person that human being sees or what they are carrying inside them. Being kind boosts everyone’s happiness
