Autism affects more than 1 in 100 people and over 700,000 people in UK are autistic, which means that 2.8m people have a relative on the autism spectrum. Anna Kennedy Online is a small charity that is determined to make sure that we continue raising awareness.
Anna Kennedy Online partners Training2Care continued this especially when an opportunity arose to raise Autism Awareness and at Sanderstead Community Day. Training2Care are the originators of the “Autism Reality Experience”. This state-of-the-art innovation is an enclosed immersive mobile unit kitted out with specialist equipment to provide a simulated environment using the latest technology.
The response and turnout were so overwhelming and participants we were able to have real time experience and perceptions of what it is like to have autism and a sensory overload, which provided everyone a better understanding of Autism. One young man, Morgan age 14, gave his feedback from going in the Autism Reality Experience Bus where he said, ‘ People think they know how I feel they don’t”, please watch this video.
Mandy Ashton community day organiser, who is also an Inclusion leader at Riddlesdown Collegiate stated that “It was one aspect of having the knowledge on paper, but a whole different understanding within three minutes on having this experience”
Various people from the public, from students, school leaders, parents, carers, Police, Council staff all spoke about how the Autism Reality Bus changed their perceptions and were keen to find out more about collaborating with Training2care and Anna Kennedy Online would benefit others.
Dr Anna Kennedy OBE especially attended from Uxbridge to speak about her charity and how perceptions of Autism need to be changed and understood better, her Charity Anna Kennedy Online is a small charity with a big heart, that raises Autism Awareness like no other mainstream charity, we are not conventional nor traditional. We are established and passionate about helping society and raising Autism Awareness across the globe by making a difference through our dedication to reaching out and supporting communities right across the UK and beyond.
Our charity has integrity and loyalty to helping people and many have benefited from a range of training, events, workshops which has left a lifelong positive impact on many lives.
Anna Kennedy Online was formed in 2009 and has been raising awareness throughout various communities by plug in talks within Schools, Colleges, and workplaces to raise Autism Awareness, which in turn has promoted networking and endorsed partnerships in tandem with our powerful social media presence.
